Hikiyama Festival Float Center
The Hikiyama Festival commemorates the historic silkworm industry in Yatsuo. Young men in Happi coats - accompanied by shamisen, flutes, and drums - pull huge floats decorated with traditional dolls, woodcarvings, gold leaf work, and Japanese lacquer, through town. Three Hikiyama floats are on exhibit. Visitors can watch an Owara dance show and try out the dance (reservation required).
