Hie Shrine

Toyama Standing proudly in the center of Toyama City, Hie Shrine has been the spiritual heart of the region for centuries, once serving as the main guardian shrine of the Toyama Domain. 

Each early summer (May 31 – June 2), the vibrant Sannō Festival fills the streets with energy, while New Year’s brings crowds of worshippers from near and far. Within the shrine grounds, a series of charming zodiac animal statues offers fun and memorable photo opportunities.
