Fascinating displays of modern art
This museum is a popular destination and one of Toyama’s representative facilities. Opened in 1981, it aims to create a meeting point between people and trends in modern art from Toyama, broader Japan, and the world, through rotating exhibitions, exhibition activities, and public relation activities. The Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design closed on Dec. 28, 2016 and will reopen in a new building as the Toyama Prefectural Museum at Fugan Unga Kansui Park on Aug. 26, 2017.
